I was the only Agent present. Windy conditions, but well attended. 15 mile dead flat course with the opening half into a cross/headwind. Did a warm up around the course, and in retrospect probably went a little too hard during the warm up. from the gun i went hard and I nearly caught my 30 sec man (Cat III Paul's Rider) before the 1/4 way mark, and caught a few slower riders along the way. On the return leg my 30 second man hunkered down and I couldn't get by him. Was passed by a Cat II on the closing straight. Throughout the race I just couldn't push a bigger gear and felt more comfortable spinning, which indicates my power is down from my peak last year. With about a Kilometer left, and with a bunch of riders in site I pushed and promptly locked my right calf in a cramp (the same calf I sprained 2 weeks ago while running). Took my leg out of the pedal and one legged a few strokes, but the cramp worsened, so I stuck my foot back in and pedalled a funny square for the rest of the race. Finished unofficially in 37:15 (24 MPH), nearly a minute better than my best on the course. Jim Fisher, riding his new felt aero, disc, helmet, skin suit finished in 24:10. He probably won it, but the results aren't up yet. I didn't go all out, and with the cramp and excessive warm up am happy with my first TT effort. Next Tuesday I hope to get a few of us there ealy enough to do a warm up lap in team TT formation. Who's game?
