Swag for the Albany Criterium

I would like to pick up, or have delivered to my home or work all the "swag" that has been promised to the race. No doubt, we will have to buy some swag with some of the donated money. Gels, tires, socks, bottles, seem to be popular. Any other ideas? Let me know what I can expect from you in the way of swag. We have 3 x $25 certificates from Bike and Hike, and some meal coupons from a good Mexican restaurant on the course. Ray's Foods is giving us a few cases (100+ bottles of Powerade). I am negotiating with our last potential sponsor at the moment.

If I need to purchase stuff, I would like to order it through Full Cycles, in which case the order needs to be in by Friday to ensure delivery.

Eugene TT

I feel like cutting and pasting Rob's comments from last weeks Eugene TT. It was pretty much the same thing. It was my first time ever putting the clip-on bars on, so it took some time to get used to them. I got them almost a year ago and have never even used them, kind of sad. But it was the same as last week, windy and good racing. I have heard many stories of people going all out for the first few miles, only to die at the end. So I think I conserved a little too much energy at first. I finished about the same as Rob with 37:50 (unofficially). Overall it was a fun time.

1st Albany Criterium

I have had alot of support from Albany businesses, and members of the Downtown Association. I rode the course yesterday, it is superb, and could be the best crit course I've raced on in terms of safety and crowd appeal. I hope we get a good turnout for the race. Willamette Vineyards has donated wine, Allied Waste $200 and garbage containers, Central Willamette Credit Union $400, Bike and Hike some gift certificates. I'll need the Agents to show up on race day to help out, who can I count on? We should be able to race if we have enough volunteers.

Team Time Trial

Who remains interested in a little over an hour of excrutiating, leg and lung burning agony? As of now, the only folks who have expressed an interest are Paul, Brady, Steven Savitch (rides for Paul's, TTs well, and hasn't got a team), and me. That is enough for a team, if all show up.

I will be at the Eugene TT tomorrow, as will Steven. I know Paul has been ill, and Rod and Scott are out. I will also send an email to the team.

Surgery Update

Its kind of bitter-sweet to be a part of this blog. My leg surgery yesterday, the Ortho said no surprises, it was a full tear and was repaired just as he expected. I am off it for a week, then back into to check healing, then into a different type of cast for the long term healing. I should be able to start swimming in a few weeks to maintain cardio. If any knows a good Sports PT in the area, let me know, as I would like to rehab this thing with cycling in mind.
Take care guys, hope to be an Agent for you next season.

TT practice.

What's the report from the team TT practice?

Welcome!

I kept finding that my email at work would block many of the emails. I was trying to piece together an occasional reply that would come through, so I put the blog together for us to post and comment on. Hope this helps. If you have any links or anything you want to add let me know.
